2002 Outdoor: Ran the 1,500 meters at two different meets. Posted a career-best time of 5:17.97 at the Tulane Invitational (4/5).

2002 Indoor: Did not compete in any meets.

2001 Cross Country: Ran in three races for the Wave. Placed seventh in the UNO Dual Meet (two miles, 13:24). Notched a 30th-place finish in the 71-runner LSU Invitational (6K, 25:08.65).

Prep: A 2001 graduate of Newman High School, where she lettered in track and cross country. A two-time state champion in the two-mile run. Helped school to the cross country state title in 1998 and 2000. Earned all-state honors twice for both cross country and track. Team MVP and a three-time all-district selection in cross country.

Personal: Born November 29, 1982 in Baltimore, Md. The daughter of Shelagh and Paul Whelton. Brother Seamus is a senior for the Princeton track team. Plans to be a pre-med major.
