AS A FRESHMAN (2005-06)
OUTDOOR: Competed in the 400-meter hurdles three times. Her season-best time of 1:09.08 at the Louisiana Classic was good for eighth place overall (3/20). Just missed besting this mark at the Conference USA championships, where she finished 13th with a time of 1:09.14 (5/13). INDOOR: Posted a time of 10.28 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles in her first collegiate meet at the LSU Twilight Invitational (2/21). Shaved .2 seconds off this time less than a week later when she set her personal best at the Conference USA championships (2/25).

AT TULANE: Also a member of the Tulane volleyball team. Saw action in 13 matches as a freshman.

PREP: A four-year letterwinner in three different sports. A three-time district champion and a third team all-state selection in the 300-meter hurdles. Also an all-state selection and two-time district champ in the 100-meter hurdles. Starting point guard and four-time all-league selection in basketball and an all-state outside hitter in volleyball.

PERSONAL: Full name is Ashley Marie Bernards. Born October 31, 1986 in McMinnville, Ore. The daughter of Kathy and Steve Bernards. Earned valedictorian honors for her high school and was the treasurer of the National Honor Society.
