Prior to Tulane: Pitched one season at the University of North Carolina for coach Mike Fox...helped lead the Tar Heels to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship and advance to the College World Series Championship Series vs. Oregon State...appeared in two games, including one start, and posted a pair of strikeouts.

Summer Ball: Played for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2007...started both games he pitched in, posting three strikeouts and no walks in 4.1 innings of work.

High School: Four-year letterman at Garden City High for coach Rich Smith where he saw time on the mound and at first base...helped lead the team to a pair of Nassau County championships and posted a career 29-6 record and a 1.00 ERA...earned all-county honors all four years and claimed all-Island and Louisville Slugger All-America honors in each of his final two prep season...claimed conference MVP honors as a junior and was awarded the Diamond Award, which is presented annually to the best pitcher in Nassau County...tossed a pair of perfect games - one as a sophomore and one as a senior...in summer of 2004, helped the Bayside Yankees win the AABC Mickey Mantle World Series...also earned two letters in basketball and soccer...off the diamond, was a member four-time member of the Principle's List.
