Meet Josh Prince

Prior to Tulane: Spent the 2007 season at the University of Texas for coach Augie Garrido...played in 35 games as a true freshman for the Longhorns, including 26 starts, while helping the team post a 46-17 record, the Big XII regular-season championship and the No. 4 national seed in the NCAA Regionals...earned Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors after hitting .371 with seven doubles and 16 RBI while fielding at a .963 clip with 30 putouts and 48 assists to go with just three errors...in Big XII play, tallied a .340 batting average (17-for-50) with four doubles, seven RBI and six sacrifice bunts.

High School: Four-year letterman at Barbe High for coach Glen Cecchini where he saw time at shortstop and on the mound...helped guide the Bucs to four District 3-5A titles, four playoff appearances and the state title as a senior when Barbe went 37-7 and ranked seventh in the nation by Baseball America...twice named all-state and claimed a spot on the National High School Baseball Coaches Association All-District 6 Team as a senior...set Barbe records for career saves (14) and saves in a season (five in 2006)...hit .425 with 35 RBI, 51 runs scored and 55 stolen bases offensively while posting a 1.21 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 13.0 innings from the mound as a senior...as a junior, hit .455 with 50 stolen bases in 36 games as a position player while going 2-1 with five saves, a 1.73 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 26 innings toeing the rubber...as a sophomore, hit .285 with four doubles, 12 RBI and 20 stolen bases while going 5-1 with four saves, a 2.80 ERA and 30 strikeouts...selected to represent the East in the 2006 Louisiana High School Coaches Association All-Star Game and was a member of the Texas Rangers Area Code Games in 2005...played for Louisiana All-Stars in 2006, helping the team to a second-place finish at the Best Baseball Championships...also lettered four times in football...off the field, was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.98 grade point average.
