PRIOR TO TULANE - Played one season at Charlotte. HIGH SCHOOL - Completed his career as Mississippi's 2006 Gatorade Player of the Year and as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,251 career points . . . a two-time first team all-state performer, was an honorable mention all-Southeast Region by Basketball Today . . . a four-year starter, led the Tigers to the state playoffs in each of his four seasons, and had his jersey retired by the school . . . scored 14 points and added seven rebounds in the 2006 Mississippi-Alabama High School All-Star Game . . . during his senior campaign, he averaged 27 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots per game and led the Tigers to a 22-9 record, a 5A South State title and the team advanced to the Class 5A Final Four, where he averaged 37.8 points in his last four games . . . scored a career-high 50 points in a state playoff first round victory over Brandon High School as Moss Point reached the 5A final four . . . averaged 21.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per outing as a junior, and posted 18.0 points with 13.0 rebounds per contest as a sophomore . . . high school coach was Brian Brooks.
