TULANE: A returning letterwinner who has played in 13 career games. 2006: Played in the first two games of the year... suffered a shoulder injury and received a red-shirt season. 2005: Played in all 11 games as a true freshman in the secondary and on special teams... returned nine kicks for 178 yards, including a career-best 38-yard return against UCF (10/21)... finished the UCF game with a career-high 67 return yards... had three returns for 51 yards against Navy (11/5)... also had a 31-yard return against Rice (11/12)... made four tackles on the season, including two against Southeastern Louisiana (10/1)... had one solo tackle and forced a fumble on special teams against SMU (9/24). HIGH SCHOOL: Ranked No. 42 on the Dallas Morning News' Top 100 area recruits... selected to the East team for the 2005 Coca-Cola All-Star Game... chosen to the All-District 11-5A team as well as the All-Area squad as a senior after earning honorable mention honors in 2003... named South Garland High's Defensive Back of the Year... three-year starter who made 70 tackles, five for losses, forced a pair of fumbles, picked off one pass and broke up 10 his senior season... credited with 56 tackles, 10 pass break-ups and four tackles for loss as a junior... added 50 tackles with an interception and was second team all-district his sophomore season... led his team to a 9-2 record in 2004 and won back-to-back district championships in 2003 and 2004... won the Texas State High School Championship in the 100 meters his senior season after an undefeated season on the track in that race... also finished third in the 200-meter race at the state championships... named the Dallas Morning News Athlete of the Year for track and field in 2005... ran the 100 and 200 meters, and was a member of the 4x100- and 4x200-relay squads on the district championship team his junior season... both relay teams qualified for the regional meet while the 4x200 squad finished fifth at the state meet... named the Rotary Student of the Month for November 2004 and was a three-year member of the A-B Honor Roll.
