TULANE: A two-year letterwinner and starter... has started 22 of 23 career games on the offensive line... spent time as a right tackle during his freshman season and played every game at center as a sophomore... moved to left guard during the spring and enters the fall as the starter at that position.

2006: Started 11 of 12 games at center and had his string of 16 straight starts snapped at UTEP because of food poisoning... an honorable mention all-C-USA performer... was a candidate for the Wuerffel Trophy. ...

2005: Earned Conference USA All-Freshman honors after starting all 11 games at right tackle... played extensively as a redshirt freshman... also served as a back-up at center... logged 719 plays on the year to rank second among all offensive lineman... graded out to a stellar 80 percent on the season... top performances came versus Houston, Navy, Rice and Tulsa.

2004: Played in two games before suffering an injury and redshirting the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Started on both the offensive and defensive lines for three years, and was a first team 3A All-State selection in 2002 and 2003... earned all-region and all-district honors three straight years... an honorable mention All-American by CBS-SuperPrep... served as team captain as a senior... led his team to district championships in 2002 and 2003 and claimed the regional title his senior year... an all-state track athlete in the discus in 2003, and was an all-district and all-parish performer in the discus and the shot put as a senior... named to the academic all-state team in 2003 and was selected as an A+ Athlete by WWL-TV and as a Scholar-Athlete by WGNO-TV... a three-time honoree by the Tri-Parish Times as a Scholar-Athlete... was a member of the National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Majoring in finance... born Michael Joel Parenton on November 2, 1985, in Thibodaux, La.... the son of Patrick and Joell Parenton... a three-time selection to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll (2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07) and Tulane's 3.0 Club.
