On practice today:
"We had a pretty good scrimmage Saturday, so what we wanted to do today is we wanted to come out and do a lot of teaching and not be as physical as we were Saturday in the scrimmage, so we did a lot of learning. We did a couple periods where we actually scouted for each other, and we ran defenses and offenses that we'll face next year. So it was kind of a little bit of game plan stuff for our opponents for the fall."
On practicing plays that hurt the team last year:
"What we want to do is we want to expose them to the things that posed problems to them a year ago, and that's one of the things we do. We try to take a half-a-dozen plays on offense and a half-a-dozen plays on defense, just to expose them to it, then get it on video and we teach them again off the video why it hurt us last year. It's just kind of a reminder of what we need to do to stop some of the plays that really hurt us last season."
On if he sees improvement in the team's ability to handle the plays that hurt them last year:
"I think so. I think I am. It's always hard to tell because you're going against each other. When you practice against each other this long, everybody gets to know each other pretty well. Like defense, for example, you're supposed to read and react, and they get to reading your plays pretty good and they start reacting better. That's why I think the defense is always a little ahead of the offense in spring practice."
