Langford's Log: On The Road Again
Langford's Log Archive
Feb. 6, 2007 NEW ORLEANS (briefly) - Our winning streak continues as we captured victories over University of Houston and Rice University. Both wins were great but the Rice victory was sweet because they beat us earlier this year. Also, the win helped ease the long bus ride home from Houston to New Orleans. We now stand at 8-2 in conference play, 19-4 overall, and own the top spot in Conference USA. We had a lot of support from our families that were from the Houston area so it made the wins even better. Although we have been winning, we still must go to class, which has been difficult because of the traveling. Missing class is probably one of the hardest challenges in playing collegiate athletics. Personally, I have met with professors outside of class because I know that I will be missing their class sometime during the week and I do not want to get behind. While I'm on the subject of traveling, we head off Tuesday to play the University of Memphis. I have never been to Tennessee so it will be a new experience. With the season winding down it is crucial for us to stay focused, so that we can have the best record possible. We want to put ourselves in the position of being able to receive a NCAA tournament berth even without winning the Conference USA championship (although we do intend on capturing it). University of Alabama-Birmingham will be visiting us this Saturday at 2 p.m. so please come out and support your Green Wave! Roll Wave,
Deuce
