Amaris Genemaras is a 5-11 outside hitter from Mount Carmel Academy in the New Orleans' suburb of Metairie.

"Welcoming Amaris Genemaras to the Tulane Volleyball program today is easy because she is a hard working, disciplined student-athlete who excels in whatever challenges she tackles," head coach Liz Kritza said. "Her development as a college volleyball player will be exciting because she is a strong athlete, jumps well, and already is very aggressive defensively. Most importantly she demonstrates the desire to improve every day, which will pay big dividends for her and this program."

High School / Club:
Genemaras helped Mount Carmel to the Division I Class 5A state championship, earning MVP honors... A 2006 All-Star State Team member... Named All-District and All-Metro in both the 2005 and 2006 seasons... A 2004 AAU All-American and an All-State performer... Team captain for volleyball her senior season... She was named one of PrepVolleyball.com's Top High School sophomores of 2004... A two-sport athlete, she also was a member of the track & field team, and won the district championship in the long jump and the triple jump... Off the court, she was her class Salutatorian, a member of the Academic All-State Team, and a nominee for 2007 Louisiana Student of the Year... She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, MU Alpha Theta, and was named the WWL-TV A+ Athlete of the Week.

Born October 15, 1989, in New Orleans... the daughter of Karin and William Genemaras... Has younger sister Kaylynn... Intends to major in biomedical engineering.
